Almost there!

August 31st, 2008

The group had plenty of visitors today, only interrupted when it started to rain in the early evening.

At a little over 7 weeks old, they’re almost ready to go home. Please get in touch with Natalie to confirm the date, but I believe it will be Wednesday September 10th as the puppies need their first set of shots and a period of observation (in case of allergies) afterward.

This may well be the last photo set for this litter, save perhaps a small one from the 8 week mark just before they all go home. If you want any of the larger photo files of your puppy for personal use, Natalie knows how to get in touch with me. All I ask is that you have the file name (usually “17001.jpg” or similar) handy, and I can send you the larger original file(s).

The only piece of advice I can offer, is take plenty of pictures once you get them home, because one day they’ll be huge, and you wont even remember how it happened.

First trip outside!

August 26th, 2008

So we took 11 not so little puppies outside for their first romp around the yard. They all seemed to have a great time, and stayed awake far longer than I would have guessed, but eventually they did all end up asleep on the blanket. They are 6 weeks in these pictures, and man are they getting big!

11 Not so little puppies

August 16th, 2008

Seeing as I (the photographer) only sees the herd once a week, it’s apparent to me how fast they grow. And let me tell you, it’s fast.

Everyone has teeth now, and they like to chew on just about anything they can get their mouth around, including pants, socks, and occasionally my big toe. They aren’t sleeping as much anymore either, and are a little more apt to get up and play. You can also tell by now who is going to have blue eyes and brown eyes.

4 weeks old

August 9th, 2008

The crew is 4 weeks old now, and are eating solid food and are mostly weaned as well as moving on to drinking water. Different personalities are starting to emerge, as well as a pretty good idea of who the “talkers” are going to be. Also, if you’ve never had a lap full of puppies before, it’s an experience I highly recommend. As always, more pictures on the pictures page!

They’re growing fast!

August 4th, 2008

The puppies are getting playful now, though they still love to just sleep wherever they lay. There is some vocal cord exercising going on in the form of little piggy-like grunting, some growling, and some barking. Everyone is walking now, albeit a little unsteadily and with a lot of sitting down on those cute little butts.

Here’s another 32 pictures to satisfy everyone for a few days! I will work on taking more ASAP!
Please see the pictures page for the rest!
